The Second Most Important Proposal

The bridesmaid proposal is the second most important proposal leading up to your wedding day.  If you are lucky enough to live in the same area as your ‘maids definitely go the route of some of these more personalized items. Don’t forget a card with some thoughtful words! I have kept all cards asking me to be a bridesmaid and will treasure them forever as an amazing reminder of how lucky I am to have such wonderful friends.

·        Donuts or Cake: The great part of living in the same area is you can hand-deliver donuts, pizza, cake or whatever your bridesmaids love to eat the most. Go the Princess Diaries route and write “Will you be my bridesmaid?” on a pizza in M&Ms or pick up a dozen donuts and some coffee and try your best cursive on the inside fold of the donuts box. If you are a great baker, try your hand at a cake and writing in frosting. Dessert is served!

·        Jewelry: Picking out a necklace or earrings that they can wear day-of the wedding is a great gift at the start of the wedding planning or day-of the wedding! It can take the confusion out of whether they should wear silver or gold and it’s a nice keepsake to have for years to come.

·        Bottle of wine and personalized glass: I love getting wine as a gift, mostly because I love wine. Tie it with a cute bow in your wedding colors, and grab a personalized tumbler or glass off of Etsy. You can also request that the girls bring their glasses to the big day, since you will be most definitely enjoying mimosas.

·        Coffee mug and k-cups or beans: A personalized coffee mug and a side of local coffee beans or K-cups are sure to be appreciated! I have seen some adorable mugs on Etsy and am personally partial to these best friends mugs.

·        Framed picture: You do not have to spend a lot of money to be thoughtful. Print out a picture of you and your bridesmaid and pop it into a frame from Marshall’s. Better yet, get one of those double-sided frames, and leave room for a picture from your wedding day!

·        Candle: You’d be hard pressed to find a girl who doesn’t love a good candle. Check out sales on Anthropologie, Bath and Body Works or even TJ Maxx. This gift can last for months and is such a sweet gesture.

·        DVD: One of my favorite bridesmaid gifts I’ve ever received is the Bridesmaids DVD, but if you share memories over a certain movie scoop up the DVD on Amazon. Pair it with a bag of popcorn, wine and the promise of a wedding planning de-stressing night in your future.

·        Personalized gift bag: Throw in a combo of your best friends favorite things. Maybe she loves Mike and Ikes, Elin Hildebrand books and stationery. There are no rules about what you give her! Just be thoughtful. I’ve seen adorable combos of cookies, champagne and a little love note.

Looking forward to hearing if you all have any other bridesmaid proposal ideas!
